For many weeks I've communicated with Antoinette Franks through correspondences and telephone calls, and finally scheduled a visit on death row to meet with her in person.

Many of you may have heard of her case, but to those who haven't, here is a brief synposis of her case and conviction. Antoinette Franks was a New Orleans Police Officer (now 37) that was convicted of robbing the Kim Anh restaurant in eastern New Orleans, while a cop, on March 4, 1995. Through that robbery, she killed a cop by the name of Ronald A. Williams, who was working as a security guard, (who she had prevoiusly known and worked with) and two workers who were siblings. She and another man (also convicted and sentenced to death) by the name of Roger La Caze was in on the robbery ( Google her name and/or go to wikipedia to view her picture).

Later, after her arrest, an investigation revealed the body of a man buried underneath her house, thought to be her father, who she had earlier reported as missing, hence... some have labeled her a serial killer! She was convicted and sentenced to death September 12, 1995, and is presently on death row at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women, in St. Gabriel, Louisiana (just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

In the beginning, she and I entertained the possibility of writing a book together, and to my knowledge, I was the only journalist/writer that she's spoken with in 13 years after many requests by others. The reason why she said she contacted me was because she believed that I would "tell" her side of the story accurately. Later, after our visit, we both decided that this was impossible, and I'll share with you why later.

On a cold and rainy day, I arrived at the prison compound and needless to say, had to endure a lot of security measures. Searches, questions, and re-searches. One's background must be investigated in detail before allowed to see a death row inmate. As I entered the special holding cell of Antoinette, we exchanged pleasantries and eventually got down to business...what would a potential book be about. Our visit lasted a few hours, and we covered much about her life, as well as my life.

Now to why we couldn't write a book together. Antoinette's position to me was ambivalent. On the one hand, she left me with the impression that this book would be a confession, and she wanted the world (and God) to forgive her, especially the victim's family. But then on the other hand, she steadfastly refuse to give up her appeals! Why did that matter to me, the appeals? Why did I asked her about her appeals? Well, my position is if you're guilty before God, why appeal? An appeal in essence is still stating that you're innocent!

My position was that if you're guilty, admit it (did I mention that there was actually two eyewitnesses to the entire crime and she originally confessed, but later recanted). And I really believed, according to her many letters, that she found God, and was ready to "come clean", and that I would write about her repentance. Why else would we write a book?

As many of you know, I was once a rogue cop, and surrendered to law enforcement in 2001 because I truly repented of my past and desired to pay the price and become a citizen of the world again. I repented not only to God, but to all I've hurt through the years.

One may ask, but Robert, she's on death row, scheduled for lethal injection, why wouldn't she appeal? I was also scheduled to die! In 1979, when I became a fugitive, I ran because the word out of Angola prison (and this was common knowledge) was that I would be raped and killed the first day! A cop cannot survive in general prison population, especially a prison population that contains some prisoners that the cop placed there!

I was still looking at the same prison time and DEATH upon my surrender! And if for some reason I was placed in solitary comfinement, I still had to do what's call a straight 30.

Do the math, 30 years "without" parole, at 45 years of age,means I'm 75 upon release (if I'm alive after 30 years). That is a type of death, and some would even argue that death is better than essentially life in prison (30 long years). If not for my belief in God, and my desire to repent, I believe the judge would have given me that time. And to me that's the key to freedom... repent to God, apologize to your victim (s), and remain crime free. Don't believe in God? Okay, that's your right, then apologize to your victim and remain crime free!

After some weeks after our visit, I can understand her fear though. She's caught in a catch 22: admit you're guilty, drop your appeals, and possibly receive death much earlier. The other catch, use up your appeals (average time 12-15 years of appeals) and extend your time living, if you call sitting in a cell living.

What did I get out of that visit, the many letters, and knowing Antoinette?

I'm thankful that the Lord eventually gave me the strength not to fear death or 30 years, and gave me faith to know that He is real. I'm happy I was obedient to his commandment to surrender... first to Him, and then to law enforcement! My admonishment...please don't hurt others!

How to Build the Classic Golf Swing

In order to create a solid impact position, a golfer need to make a mechanical action that reaches various positions.

One of the top swing flaws is 'paralysis by analysis' which destroys the natural flow of the swing.

I think the very worst thing that a golfer could do is purchase golf magazines or instructional books with the intention of getting the club into 3 or 4 positions in the back swing and 3 or 4 positions in the downswing.

The golf swing is meant to be a natural movement. It should be a nice fluid, free flowing movement from start to finish.

1. Develop a pre shot routine A pre shot routine is the sequence of events that occurs right after you select the club from your bag to the moment just before you begin your backswing. Commence by putting your golf club behind the ball and see an imaginary line running through the club head, ball and target.

Ensure you place the club behind the ball with the hand furthest from the target and stand open to the target when you are squaring the club. Standing open gives you a far greater chance of aligning the club square to the target.

Once you are satisfied that your club is square to the target, set up your stance, hips and shoulders square to the target line, ensuring all the time that the original club head alignment is maintained.

Next put your other hand on the grip and maintain light grip pressure by giving your club head a few waggles.

2. Commence a smooth one piece takeaway Become aware that your arms and the club head form a natural triangle i.e. there is a triangle formed between your arms and the golf grip. Your goal is to swing this triangle back until your back is fully turned to the target.

Do not consciously try to cock your wrists at any stage; if your grip pressure is light these will cock naturally toward the end of the backswing. The only thought occupying your mind should be nice smooth rhythm.

3. Retain the flex in your right knee As you reach the top of your backswing, you must ensure that your right knee has not straightened. Focus on retaining this inward tilt for the duration of the swing.

4. The down swing is initiated by your legs. Feel your down swing commencing by a slight movement of your left knee towards the target. This will cause club head lag in which your wrists are pulled down on the back of the ball while retaining the full wrist hinge from the top of the backswing. A nice thought to bear in mind is 'butt of shaft to back of ball'.

This ensures you have a late release coming in to the back of the ball and deliver a powerful, crisp impact with the ball.

5. Think Rhythm When you swing a golf club you should visualize your favorite golf pros swing in your mind and think rhythm. Try to duplicate their rhythm and think of nothing else. This single swing thought will ensure a nice smooth swing and you will begin to swing the club naturally and thus powerfully.

So to tie it all together, you need to integrate square alignment, light grip pressure and a few waggles into your pre-shot routine. Swing the triangle back with light grip pressure and turn your back on the target. Commence the downswing with the leadership of your legs and finish the swing in balance.

The single greatest swing thought to focus on is 'rhythm'.

Do this and stop breaking a natural motion down into its component parts. You will be delighted at how consistently you begin to strike the ball for every club in the bag.

Remember... you want to work your whole body so do a combination of exercises. It's the best way I've found to lose 5 pounds in 3 days. An example would be squats, bench press, pull-downs, bicep curls, tricep extensions and then do some form of ab exercise like crunches.

Weight lifting like this for the first 40 minutes at a solid pace will burn off loads of calories.

So once you're finished with your strength training, then move on to cardio.

An example of this would be to get on the stairmaster and really work up a great sweat. You need to challenge yourself here. So you should be sweating like crazy. Do your cardio for about 30 minutes.

I have some friends who own a working farm, run their own small farm shop and offer dinner, bed and breakfast in the picturesque English village of Holme Lacy in the county of Herefordshire. The farm is mixed arable and livestock, so they have a good range of produce to offer in their small shop. They also use the produce for the guests holidaying with them. However, they wanted to publicise both the farm shop locally and the bed and breakfast to a wider audience. They decided to have a website built and market themselves via the internet. After asking around and doing some research, they found a locally based internet marketing firm based near Hereford and commissioned a marketing package.

To get things moving quickly, a pay per click campaign was set up and within a few days, there were enquiries coming in and bookings secured.

The marketing company made sure that when the website was built that it had excellent copy and content and was well laced with good keywords and key phrases. Years ago, when I first started in online marketing, all the rage was something called "list building". I immediately jumped on this subject and started gathering every list building technique one could possibly imagine. It very quickly became one of my most favorite areas of Internet marketing to explore; so much so, that when I reached my first goal of getting 1000 subscribers, I was so pleased with myself, I even wrote an ebook on list building.

But that was then, this is now.

Since that time, online marketing and even the web itself, has changed tremendously. And we are not talking about small changes or minor adjustments here - the web has fundamentally changed from the core up. People simply use the web in a different way than they used it 10 years ago. It has become so much more of a user-friendly place, so much so, that marketing on this friendlier web has become a whole new ballgame.

The question remains: is list building still relevant on today's web?

The answer is still a solid "YES", but the "WAY" lists are built have almost changed completely. Not too long ago, traditional list building meant you slapped some sign-ups forms (provided by your webhost or an autoresponder service) onto your web pages and you were in business. Subscribers who signed up to your list or newsletter, would receive follow-up emails from you or your site.

Anyone could do it since it was so straightforward and so simple, almost to the point of being idiot-proof.
